The St. Clair County Library System is planning a summer of fun for all ages this summer. The annual summer reading program starts on June 17th and goes through August 17th. The calendar is jam-packed with two months of events, prizes, and of course, reading.
The theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library” and is once again using the READsquared app to track reading and activities and to earn prizes. Paper reading logs are available also.
The prizes are always spectacular and this year is no exception. The more you read, the more chances you have to win. The prizes include a Nintendo Switch and an electric bike and many other cool choices. There are different prizes for different age groups, including adults.
Participants get one point per minute of reading, and additional points can be earned for attending library events (check the BlueWaterParent.com Events calendar for all local family-friendly events) and for completing missions on the READsquared app. The points are used to purchase raffle tickets to be in the running for the huge variety of amazing prizes.
This year, the SCCLS is offering a chance to earn more points with their Treasure Map. Each branch is featured on the map with three activities that can be completed at that branch.
Have a great summer of reading!
