Mainstreet Dance Connection Presents The Wizard of Oz November 9th

Local dancers will be following the yellow brick road to Oz and you can go along for the trip. Mainstreet Dance Connection is presenting a youth production of The Wizard of Oz. There are two performances: Saturday, November 9th at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The show will be held at the Port Huron Northern High School Performing Arts Center.

Dorothy and Toto and their friends will be performing ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe numbers.

Choreographed by the Mainstreet Dance Connection professional staff, the show features seasoned dancers with many years of performance experience, while some young dancers are brand new to dance and the stage.

Family Fun

Dan Higgins, one of the choreographers, said, “With crowd favorites such as ‘Over the Rainbow’ and ‘We’re Off to See the Wizard’, plus well-loved characters like the Lion, Tin Man, and Scarecrow, this show is fun for the whole family.”

The show features 49 children, aged four to eighteen. The dancers have been practicing for seven weeks and are very excited to present their hard work to the community.

All are welcome to check out the show. Showtimes are 2:00 and 5:00 on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased at the door. The cost is $15.

New Dancers Welcome

Mainstreet Dance Connection will be starting new dance classes for boys and girls of all ages at both their Port Huron and Birchwood Mall locations in January. The studio typically performs a stage production every fall.
