This is one of those years when the fall colors are spectacular. You don’t have to drive far to see the trees putting on a show. Some of the best local color is along I-69 near Wadhams. The red maples are doing their thing in a big way.
Taking a walk through the woods is an easy and free way to teach your child about the changing seasons of the year. If you want to go deeper into science, you can teach them about chlorophyll and why the leaves change (here’s why), and if you really want to get creative, you can do a good old-fashioned leaf rubbing project (here’s how).
You know what’s coming next: bundle-up season. But before your entryway starts to get all cluttered up with boots and hats and bags of snow pants and heavy coats, take some time to enjoy that lovely season that is upon us: fall.
If you know of a great spot for taking in the fall colors, let us know!
