Using Artificial Intelligence to Plan Family Meals
In today’s fast-paced world, where families are balancing work and home life, finding time to plan meals for the family can be a daunting task. After the emotional and physical drain of the week, who has the time or energy to plan for the next 7 days? The solution? Get an assistant! No, really, you need an assistant! We all do. While I’m not talking about a physical assistant, consider engaging in the world of AI, or Artificial Intelligence.
How To Get Started With AI
Don’t know where to get started? You are not alone. Let’s explore! One AI app that is very helpful in meal planning is ChatGPT. The app is free and very simple to use. One of the biggest advantages of using ChatGPT for meal planning is the
time it saves. By simply inputting your request, including dietary restrictions, ingredients or the theme of the meal, ChatGPT can generate detailed meal plans for the entire week within seconds. This eliminates the need to scour cookbooks or the internet for recipes, allowing you to focus on other important things.

Let’s break down the steps so you can download the app and get started today!
First, you want to define your preferences. Begin by outlining any dietary requests or restrictions. Are there certain foods you love or avoid? Do you have any allergies or are you following a specific diet?
Next, add your requirements into ChatGPT. You can specify the number of meals per day, the type of cuisine you prefer, and any specific ingredients you’d like to include or exclude. The more detailed your input, the more customized your meal plan will be.
Third, generate your meal plan! Once you’ve provided ChatGPT with your preferences and requirements, it’s time to generate your meal plan. This plan will include anything you requested in your outline.
Here is an example of what I recently entered into ChatGPT for a weeklong plan of
dinners for my family:
Create a meal plan for 7 days of dinners with recipes for a family of five that
focuses on heart-healthy meals that both children and adults will enjoy.
After generating your meal plan, take a few minutes to review it. If there are any recipes that don’t appeal to you or require ingredients you can’t find, you can ask ChatGPT to suggest alternatives. This flexibility ensures that your meal plan is practical and enjoyable. Once you are happy with your meal plan you can ask for the recipes to accompany the meal plan as well as a shopping list.
Lastly, enjoy your extra time! It really is that simple. With your meal plan, recipes, and shopping list in hand, you are ready to conquer the week ahead. Now, you can enjoy a little extra time, thanks to using Artificial Intelligence to plan family meals with ChatGPT!
