All The Sports

Homeschooled kids have the opportunity to try out a variety of different sports with the new Sports and Skills Camp. Huron Academic Endeavors (HAE), a home-education center located in Smiths Creek, has re-imagined youth athletics. HAE will host weekly sports and open gym classes for area students. The classes offer exploratory athletics for all ages. The lineup includes three 10-week camps for basketball, flag football, and cross country, with mini-camps for bowling,
kickball, hiking, and more. There are also open gym and conditioning options. The camps and classes will be on Monday mornings for all of 2026. The classes are open to any student, but the weekday morning class is tailored for homeschoolers.

Quality Coaching

HAE administrator Kelly Oldfold said in a press release, “Students are able to practice different sports, learn the skills, exercise different muscle groups, practice with the equipment, and enjoy teamwork, all from expert coaches.” She went on to say, “Youth athletics isn’t about the quantity. It is about the quality of coaching and the experience of different sports – all while accommodating a family’s budget and time. Sports and Skills Camp families are not expected to sacrifice evenings, weekends, road trips, and hotel stays for student athletics. And students are able to enjoy the adventure of learning new sports, getting great exercise, and playing with teammates!”
