BlueWaterParent.com publisher, Jennie McClelland, took her family to CocoBella’s Bakery in St. Clair. Here’s her review.
Field Trip Worthy
Can’t make it to Paris for Christmas this year? CocoBella’s Bakery in St. Clair, Michigan, has got you covered. The European-style bakery is worth a family field trip. The architecture and decorating are lovely. The open kitchen is pristine. There was a live demonstration this morning involving tempering chocolate and creating bonbons.

Pastries and Coffee
This is not a donut shop. The menu includes flaky European-style pastries, quiches, croissants, and huge cinnamon rolls. My family got the cinnamon rolls, a quiche, and a Nutella-filled pastry. We were all members of the Clean Plate Club before we left. You can order crepes, waffles, whole loaves of bread, and more. They have a full menu of beverages, and they even have decaf espresso (thank you!). Their coffee is sourced from Zingerman’s, which is top-shelf coffee. Pricing is on par with Starbucks and Panera. All of the drinks we ordered were excellent.

Closed on Tuesdays
Make sure to check their hours each day. They are closed to the public on Tuesdays. The live baking demonstrations are every Saturday morning from 9-11 a.m. The space is very family-friendly and has tables and bar seating. It was very crowded when we were there, but still a pretty relaxed environment full of people of all ages enjoying the beautiful atmosphere. CocoBella’s has a nice website. Check it out here.
