Michelle Stuckey-Wolford of Wonder Wolf Entertainment is everywhere these days. If she’s not leading a dance class or dressed up like a mermaid or a snow fairy at a children’s event, she’s creating a magical balloon arch or face painting at a birthday party. Miss Michelle, as her young dance students call her, has worked hard to build her thriving Blue Water area business that brings entertainment and fun to local families every week.
Michelle got started in entertaining with a career as a professional dancer. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance from the University of Texas at Austin. After earning the degree, Michelle moved to New York to perform. She ended up working huge parties and events as a dancer, actor, and showgirl and gravitated toward children’s entertainment, thanks to her agent’s suggestion. She learned the trades of face painting, airbrushing, and balloon twisting as she developed her niche.
Life brought Michelle to Port Huron where she is using her skills as a successful entrepreneur. She said her favorite part of the job is being a part of people’s special days. She loves seeing the sense of wonder and surprise on people’s faces when they see one of her elaborate costumes or look at themselves in the mirror with face paint. Michelle said, “I love that I get to be silly and goofy as my job. What’s better than making kiddos happy?”
When asked about hot trends for kids’ parties right now, Michelle said it is definitely balloon décor. People love balloons, with organic balloon garlands on hoops or Chiara walls being very hot right now.
Michelle ventures out of the Blue Water Area for her work sometimes, and shared a recent experience at a black-tie corporate event in Detroit. The event had thousands of guests, lavish décor, and surprise entertainment from national headliners Dan & Shay and Ludacris.
Michelle is hoping to grow Wonder Wolf Entertainment into a “sparkly party empire” with a team of face painters, balloon twisters, and performers to serve events of all sizes in the Blue Water Area.
