Meet the BlueWaterParent.com Team
BlueWaterParent.com is published by Blue Water Parent Media, LLC, independently owned and published by Jennie McClelland…
While raising her children, Jennie has worked as a freelancer in the communications and education industries, and as a volunteer for various organizations. She started BlueWaterParent.com in 2014 and took a break from the active publication of the online resource from late 2019 to mid-2022 to pursue other projects. Jennie decided to update and restart BlueWaterParent.com for a new generation of families in late summer of 2022.
Jennie and her husband, Gerry, have been blessed with six children currently ranging from school-age to teenager to young adults. They have found the Blue Water Area of Michigan to be a great place to raise children.

Jackie Davidson is a mom to three beautiful girls. Jackie and her husband Jeff, grew up in the Blue Water Area and promptly moved back after college. With an education degree, Jackie taught for about 9 years and earned a master’s in education before she transitioned to being a stay-at-home mom to her twins.
Jackie describes her family as a typical family with sports activities, play dates, and fighting about eating dinner but they have one big twist: autism. Their daughter was diagnosed as autistic at the age of 3 and her family’s lives have never been quite the same since encountering this life-altering moment.
As a contributor to the BlueWaterParent.com Autism Guide, Jackie hopes that readers will find an ally, a voice, and a resource to learn from. She said, “With autism occurring at a 1 in 36 children rate you might be naive to think you don’t know or have not met a child with autism. Autism is important not only to navigate as the parent, but also as the friend, the family, and the parent to a student who is in class with children who are autistic. Let’s grow together.”
