Food Giveaway Monday at YMCA
Five semi-trucks of food are scheduled to make their way to Port Huron to lend a helping hand to families that aren’t getting a paycheck during the ongoing government shutdown and those who rely on SNAP benefits (Bridge Cards) to buy groceries. Over 22,000 individuals in St. Clair County live in households that receive SNAP benefits. To qualify for SNAP, households must earn an income that is less than 130% of the federal poverty level. That level adjusts by family size.
The first truck full of food is planned for 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3rd, at the YMCA of the Blue Water Area.
Hot Meals at Mid-City Nutrition
Families who are having trouble getting food on the table can get a hot meal at Mid-City Nutrition. Meals are served from 11:00 a.m.–noon and 4:00–5:00 p.m. on weekdays and on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m.–noon and Sundays from 4:00–5:00 p.m.
Upcoming Food Giveaways
