Playgroups are Essential
Playgroups are essential for both parents and children. The connections made at playgroups can last a lifetime. Huron Academic Endeavors, which offers a hybrid homeschool program from their Fort Gratiot campus, has launched a new program, Little Endeavors Infant Playgroup and Mommy Support, for the youngest ones in the community, babies, and their moms.
Little Endeavors is a New Approach
Kelly Oldford, Operations Director at Huron Academic Endeavors Cooperative Center said, “Little Endeavors Infant Playgroup and Mommy Support is a weekly mom-and-baby class designed for weekly inspiration and weekly aspiration. Weekly inspiration will focus on mom, including sound and sensory mindfulness, music, inspirational quotes, movement, and helpful articles. Moms will also leave class each week with a weekly aspiration.”
Aspire to Something New Every Week
What’s an aspiration? According to Oldford, a weekly aspiration focuses on the baby. It includes storytime, developmental movement, sensory play, music, crafts, and more! The weekly aspiration is a small, attainable weekly goal that mom can work towards. When classes gather the following week, that weekly aspiration becomes part of mom’s weekly inspiration.
Build Connections
The goal is to build connections between mom and baby as well as between the moms in attendance. Little Endeavors classes are held in the kinetics lab of the Huron Academic Endeavors campus, designed for movement and play! The class is taught by certified teacher and infant professional, Jordan DePasquale. Class times can be found on the BlueWaterParent.com Events Calendar.
Huron Academic Endeavors also offers sports camps and science programs through their hybrid homeschool model.
