Parents’ Night Out: Port Huron’s Foundry Offers Creative Break for Both Kids and Parents

Published 9/15/25

No Babysitter Needed

What will she think of next? Port Huron entrepreneur Carol Brooks, owner of Foundry, is offering parents and kids an opportunity to relax and be creative, just not in the same room. Brooks said, “As a mom, I know how rare it is to find something to do just for you and find a babysitter at the same time. Parents Night Out is our way of giving parents a breather while their kids have a blast. The kids aren’t just being babysat — they’re exploring pottery, playing with paint, and creative play. They get to explore, make something fun, and then wind down with a movie if parents need more time.”

September 26-27

Parents’ Night Out is being held on Friday, September 26th, from 4:30-9:30 p.m. or Saturday, September 27th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Kids will get to create in the Pottery Garage or splatter paint studio and wind down with a movie. Parents can chill out in the new Art Bar, where they can enjoy food and beverages and create their own masterpiece from the artistic selections there.

The cost is $25 for each child, and adults who bring a child will get 20% off their projects at the Art Bar.

Brooks said, “Our mission at Foundry is to provide creative and fun experiences and moments of escape.  This event is really about supporting families to make life in Port Huron a little easier and a lot more fun. “
