Port Huron’s ChillyFest Turns Downtown into Winter Wonderland

Port Huron’s Chilly Fest brings a variety of family activities to downtown Port Huron on February 7th. The annual winter celebration features ice sculptures placed in front of businesses throughout downtown and a variety of activities.

Families can purchase chili tickets and use them to sample. The tickets are $10 each and allow for sampling of 17 different chilis. The chili will be located at downtown restaurants and in The Wrigley Center. Participating restaurants include Bootleggers Axe Co., BWROC, Chef Shell’s Restaurant & Catering, Dot’s Candy Bar, Freighters, Lynch’s Irish Tavern, Raven Cafe, Señor Tequila, Smoke On the Water BBQ & Catering, Texas Roadhouse, Vintage Tavern, Wings Etc., and Zebra Lounge. Tickets go on sale at 11:00 a.m. at the McMorran Tent and the Wrigley Center. Tasting and judging is from noon to 4:00 p.m. Winners will be announced at the Wrigley Center at 6:00 p.m.

S’mores, Games, Kid’s Zone

Starting at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7th, and until supplies run out, classic and gluten-free s’mores will be served at the station on McMorran Boulevard. Everyone knows that Port Huron is a hockeytown, and the Puck Putt honors the legacy. Sponsored by 4Sports, the Puck Putt will be held in the North Superior Lot behind Chef Shell’s from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. There is also a warm indoor Kids’ Zone in the McMorran Place Lounge from 11:30-2:00 p.m. on Saturday. One of the highlights of the Indoor Kid’s Zone is Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos from Wonderwolf Entertainment. There will also be strolling magic tricks in the Lounge, and live magic shows in the McMorran Theater at 12:00 p.m., 12:45 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. featuring local magician Josh Sawdon. Laser Tag will be offered in the McMorran Lounge from noon to 2:00 p.m.

Free Carriage Rides, Ice Carving Demonstrations, Penguins, Skating

Carriage rides will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday with boarding starting on McMorran Boulevard. Live ice carving demonstrations will be on display in the McMorran Plaza from 1:00-4:00 p.m. There will also be “Hungry, Hungry Penguins” sponsored by BWROC at the McMorran Outdoor Ice Rink. Free ice skating will be available all day at the McMorran Outdoor Ice Rink.
