Ahoy, mateys!
Mark your calendars! The second annual Pirates in the Park is being brought to kids and families by Tires and Treads Community Project. The themed event will be held on Sunday, June 29th, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Barn #2 at Goodells County Park.

Tires and Treads
Tires and Treads Community Project is a Blue Water Area charity that combines classic cars with a whole lot of philanthropy. They stock clothing closets at local schools, they make dreams come true for kids with severe illnesses, and they bring the community together time after time.
Tires and Treads Founder Fran Morris said that last year’s Pirates in the Park was dedicated to a 5-year-old boy battling Leukemia. Morris said that a 6-year-old boy with autism in attendance experienced a great breakthrough, which is why her organization wants to dedicate this year’s Pirates in the Park to autistic children and adults.

Be a (Kind) Pirate for the Day
Kids and adults are invited to dress like pirates. They will have a pirate ship, a walk the plank activity, a treasure hunt, an area for pictures, music, and more. There might even be some live parrots!

Morris said that their “breakthrough child” experienced the kindness of many people at last year’s event. He gifted pirate treasure to many in attendance while dressed like a pirate and continued his generosity with his treasures throughout the following weeks. The smile he had while making others happy was his breakthrough.
