Taking a trip to the hospital is usually low on the list of preferred holiday activities. Still, there is a good reason that families are gladly trekking to McLaren Port Huron Hospital during this holiday season. The annual train display, the masterpiece of train enthusiast Dr. Percy McDonald, MD, a Port Huron Ear, Nose, & Throat doctor, is on display in the hospital’s South Tower Lobby. It can be enjoyed from both inside and outside the hospital.
Dr. McDonald has been creating a new train display every year for over 30 years.

So while “Let’s go to the hospital” might not be a typical phrase to hear around Christmas time, the train display, along with the beautifully decorated trees on display for the annual Festival of Trees, make McLaren Port Huron Hospital a holiday destination for families.
The trains run daily from now until the New Year during the following times: 8-9 a.m., 10-11 a.m., noon-2 p.m., 3-4 p.m., 5-6 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. The trains need time to cool down during the “off” hours.
