Community Invited to Attend MLK Day Service, Donate to Warming Center

If getting your family more involved in the community is a goal for 2023, you can get started by getting involved in the annual community observance of MLK Day.

In cooperation with Blue Water Area Churches, Port Huron’s Operation Transformation is holding the annual “One in Christ” Community Martin Luther King, Jr. Service at 3:00 p.m. on January 15th at Port Huron First United Methodist Church at 828 Lapeer in Downtown Port Huron. The service includes music, scripture, and dance. The guest speaker will be Pastor John Pomeroy of New Anthem Church.

The service is a chance to show unity across denominations while helping the community. Those who attend are asked to gather items for the Warming Shelter opening soon in Port Huron. The needed items are travel-size toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, hand soap, and hand towels, along with socks, underwear, adult incontinence products, sweatpants, and sweatshirts.
