Cross Country fans will have a rare opportunity to watch both high school and college-level cross country runners compete in the first Skippers Cross Country Showcase, sponsored by St. Clair County Community College (SC4). The runners will converge upon Goodells County Park on September 1st, 2023 for this exciting race.

Runners are expected from SC4, Wayne State University, Lawrence Technological University, Rochester University, and Schoolcraft College. High school runners from Almont, Brown City, Landmark, New Life Christian Academy, and Richmond will also be racing.

The Women’s College Division (5K) runs at 4 p.m. and the Men’s College Division (8K) starts at 4:45 p.m. The high school teams will compete in 5K races at 5:30 p.m. (varsity girls), 6:15 p.m. (varsity boys), and 7 p.m. (junior varsity).

The cross country races are free to watch and open to the public.

SC4 Athletic Director Dale Vos said, “This is a unique opportunity to see talented cross country athletes from across ages, conferences, and institutions. We’re excited to welcome teams and fans to this event and look forward to more showcases like this in the future.”
