Free Tiny Tots Music Class Offered

A playgroup or group music class is a great way for very young kids to make their first friends and is a way for moms, dads, grandparents, or caregivers to connect with other people in the same stage of life.

Since the pandemic, parents of young children are still easing back into social situations with their little ones and some playgroups and tots’ classes are trying to find ways to reach those young children and their caregivers.

The Sal Community Center offers a Tiny Tots Music class that has two sessions each Thursday morning: one for the youngest children and one for those aged 3 to 5. Angela Drum, Director of Port Huron’s Sal Community Center, said that attendance has been low, but she’s not giving up.

Drum said that she has a degree in music and has a lot of ideas for making the class an enriching program for the community. Potential participants have an opportunity to have fun with music by singing, dancing, playing and making instruments, and being introduced to different genres of music.
