Your Family Can Help
Do you feel helpless when you see someone who looks like they might be living on the streets? Do you want to model peace and love to your children during this holiday season? Blue Water Area Rescue Mission (BWARM) has created a very specific list that takes the guesswork out of thinking of a way to help those is the community who are experiencing homelessness. They have created a simple and specific list of exactly what is needed for their clients. BWARM provides overnight shelter, meals, and hope to men who don’t have a place to stay at night.

Backpacks for BWARM
First, you need to buy a backpack. Then, buy the following items: wallet, snacks, deodorant, rain poncho, a small flashlight, two pairs of socks, a travel coffee mug, waterproof winter gloves, a three-pack of boxer briefs, two $5 fast food gift cards, a zippered hoodie sweatshirt, and 2 in 1 shampoo/body wash. BWARM encourages you to attach a Christmas card with an encouraging note signed by your family. The backpacks need to be dropped off by Sunday, December 21st. BWARM is located at 1920 24th Street on the south end of Port Huron. You can learn a lot about BWARM by checking out their website: https://bwarm.net/. Volunteers are always needed. The website has a great list of specific items, in addition to the backpacks, that can help the men who visit the rescue mission to survive the winter.
