Kids Skiing

Perks for 4th Graders

Being a fourth grader is pretty amazing. You are still a little kid, but you are grown up enough to do the things you are interested in and you are gaining a bit more independence than the younger kids. Thanks to two popular programs, 4th graders can also have free entry to National Parks and they can ski for free in Michigan.

The Every Kid Outdoors program is a national project that offers free passes to 4th graders to enter National Parks and other federally funded recreation areas throughout the country. The Every Kid Outdoors website has all the details.

The Michigan Cold is Cool Passport offers free ski options in Michigan to both 4th and 5th graders, but you need to download a $30 app to access the passes. It’s not exactly totally free, but $30 is pretty cheap when it comes to lift tickets.

There are plenty of blackout dates and restrictions, so you’ll want to check the website before you head to the slopes.
