The Make a Difference Club at Port Huron Northern High School has hosted a Special Night Out for high school-age cognitively impaired students for around seven years. The event will be held on May 9th, 2025, at Port Huron Northern High School’s cafeteria. There is no cost to attend.

The yearly event is a themed prom, with this year’s theme of “sports”. Students can wear apparel representing their favorite sports team, or they can dress up in traditional prom attire.
The Special Night Out is open to all High School MOCi and MICi students as well as the Next Step and Woodlands programs.
Organizer Elisa Thomas said, “The students come and have a great time dancing with their friends.”
The Make a Difference Club is partnering with Tires and Treads, a local charity that assists children, as well as Mad Hatter Entertainment.
To register for the event, call or text 810.300.2839 by April 23rd.
