Take Care with Peanuts at Carnegie Center

The Carnegie Center in Port Huron, part of Port Huron Museums, has installed a unique exhibit in the mezzanine of the historic building. With admission to the museum, located at 1115 6th Street in downtown Port Huron, patrons can experience the “Take Care with Peanuts” exhibit.

Andrew Kercher, Manager of Community Engagement for Port Huron Museums, said, “We are very excited to have this display for the summer on our Mezzanine. Almost everyone has read or watched some of the Peanuts gang over the years.”

Kercher said, “This is a great opportunity to explore some of the interesting themes that Charles Schulz included in the iconic comic strip and learn a little more about Snoopy, Woodstock, and good ole’ Charlie Brown.”

The exhibit draws on themes found throughout Charles Schulz’s iconic comic strips and projects three vital messages of caring: Care for yourself, Care for each other, and Care for the Earth.

Kercher said that the Peanuts Gang leads by example, often humorously, and that “Take Care with Peanuts inspires and motivates action through online messages, kid-friendly animated videos, charitable opportunities, special curricula, social media engagement, pop-up experiences, and much more—reminding us to press ‘Pause’ and appreciate ourselves, those around us, and this place we call home.”

You’ve got all summer to check out the exhibit. It is on display until September. For more information about Port Huron Museums, click here.
