Traveling with Kids is Worth It

Traveling with kids is a lot of work, but it is worth it when memories are made and kids’ experiences are broadened.

Theresa Winters of Faraway Places Travel said, “Travel of any form is such a unique educational experience. There truly are endless opportunities to have them learn about the world past their own four walls.”

Winters said, “You learn more about one another when put to the test, experience new things, or create memories. My kids bond more when on a road trip than they do at home.”

Some sibling bickering is expected. Read here for tips on planning for a drama-free road trip.

Winters said, “As a single parent, if one kid wants to ride a roller coaster, for example, and the other doesn’t, we have to work that out. One child would not be allowed to sit alone for over an hour while the parent and other child waited in line and rode the ride. More times than not the child that was scared would join in and learn that they do in fact like roller coasters.”
