Youth Self-Determination Series Offered

Kids who face learning challenges often have an IEP, or Individualized Education Program. The plans are written by educators with guidance from parents. By the time kids get to be teens or young adults, they may be ready to have their voices heard in developing the plans.

The Michigan Alliance for Families is offering the Youth Self-Determination Series to students and young adults ages 14 and older who have an IEP. The online sessions offer support to young people who are ready to choose and set their own goals, get involved in making life decisions, self-advocating, and work to reach those goals.

The sessions start on November 14th. A link to more information and to register can be found at https://tinyurl.com/3dek3ryz.

The Michigan Alliance for Families helps students and families navigate the process of accessing services and supports them throughout the experience.
