Support is Critical for Caregiver Mental Health
Caregivers need support! Parents, grandparents, caregivers, and family members of autistic loved ones are invited to the Autism Support Group, facilitated by St. Clair County Community Mental Health. This group isn’t just for parents and caregivers of young children with autism. It is for the families of autistic individuals of all ages, because caregiving doesn’t stop when a person turns 18.
Learn from Other Parents
The Autism Support Group is facilitated by professionals with extensive experience. The support group offers families a chance to share ideas and learn from each other. The group meets at both the Harrison Center in Port Huron and the St. Clair County Community Mental Health office in Marine City. The Port Huron group meets on the third Thursday of each month at two different times. Participants attend one of the sessions. The morning session is 9:00-10:30 a.m., and the afternoon session is 1:00-2:30 p.m. The Marine City support group meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
